Advanced Culture Plates

Although originally designed for Alvetex Advanced 3D tissue bioengineering applications, REPROCELL's Advanced Culture Plates are not exclusive for that use. Our polystyrene plates can also be used for standard cell culture applications giving users further options to modify media volumes and design co-culture studies.

For example, the Advanced deep six-welled plate (AVP026) has a standard 6-well configuration but with a deeper well for larger media volumes. Our single welled trays offer volumes of 50 ml (AVP027), 75 ml (AVP028), and 125 ml (AVP029) capacities.

The 6 well handle handle holder (AVP030) is also compatible with standard 6-well inserts available from other suppliers, providing further flexibility.

Our plasticware is supplied sterile and is not plasma treated. If users choose to culture cells on the base of the well, a suitable coating solution (e.g. poly-d-lysine, collagen) would need to be added to promote cell adhesion and facilitate conventional cell culture.

Our deep (extra capacity) plasticware can also be used for non-mammalian culture applications such as generating agar plates for use in microbial research.

Also, in the Alvetex 3D Cell Culture range, Alvetex perfusion plates (AVP011) are a simple, low-cost perfusion system that can combine 3D cell culture with dynamic circulation and perfusion of cell culture media. This product allows scientists to create cell based models that are another step closer to the environment experienced by cells and tissue in vivo.

Perfusion plates can also be used to create complex co-cultures, multi organ systems and to study paracrine effects.
