REPROCELL Launches Next-Generation System for 3D Bioengineered Tissues

Glasgow, UK — October 20, 2025 — REPROCELL Europe Ltd. today announced the launch of Alvetex® Advanced, an innovative plasticware platform designed to expand the capabilities of 3D cell culture and bioengineered tissue models, such as human skin. Building on the proven success of the Alvetex® scaffold, the new system introduces significant improvements in culture flexibility, assay compatibility, and translational accuracy, while complementing REPROCELL’s existing plasticware portfolio.  

Alvetex® Advanced has been engineered to meet the growing demand for physiologically relevant in vitro models across pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, and medical device testing. By combining the structural integrity of the Alvetex® scaffold with a redesigned insert and culture system, the platform provides greater experimental control and enables researchers to generate more predictive and reproducible data.  

Among its key features, Alvetex® Advanced allows researchers to control culture depth, adjust medium volumes, and raise tissues to the air-liquid interface with ease. Direct access to cultured surfaces enables the application of test substances, devices, or probes, while an innovative compartment seal minimizes leakage and improves consistency across replicates. This system is fully compatible with functional measurements such as barrier integrity, pH, dye penetration, and electrical resistance, and cultured tissues can be readily transferred to downstream analyses including histology, imaging and molecular profiling.  

In addition, this platform has been designed for compatibility with certain clinical-grade instrumentation, strengthening the translational bridge between laboratory and clinic. This alignment increases predictive accuracy, supports study design, and enhances the reliability of in vitro-to-in vivo correlations across a wide range of research applications. 

Importantly, the new platform has been developed to complement, not replace, the current Alvetex® product range. Existing products remain fully suited to established applications, while the new platform provides enhanced options for projects requiring additional flexibility and integration with advanced assays and instrumentation. 

Alvetex® Advanced will be available globally from Fall 2025.
