Webinar:  Raising the Standard: High-Quality and Reproducible Growth Factors for Advanced Cell Systems

10 September 2025

  • EMEA webinar session: 12:00 noon BST (13:00 CEST)
  • US webinar session: 12:00  noon EDT (9:00 PDT)
Recombinant protein variability remains a significant barrier to reproducibility in cell biology, particularly in the fields of stem cell, organoid research, and disease modeling. This webinar will introduce Qkine’s portfolio of high-purity, animal-free growth factors and cytokines, developed to address this challenge through stringent quality control and exceptional batch-to-batch consistency. Emphasising innovation in protein engineering and bioactivity validation, we will explore how Qkine’s next-generation reagents support the development of physiologically relevant cell models and improve the reliability of in vitro systems. Attendees will gain insight into the role of reagent consistency in experimental design and how advanced production strategies can accelerate discovery across regenerative medicine and drug development.

About our Speaker

Luana_HeadshpotDr. Luana Ferrara holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, funded by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, and has over a decade of experience in molecular biology and protein engineering. She joined Qkine in 2017 as a Senior Protein Scientist and has since progressed to Head of R&D, where she oversees the research plan and supports new product development. In her current role, Luana supervises the development of high-purity, animal-free growth factors and cytokines, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scientific excellence and reproducibility. She also manages key collaborations and drives the strategic direction of Qkine’s expanding product portfolio to meet the evolving needs of stem cell and regenerative medicine research.
