BioServe

BioServe’s global biorepository provides leading academic and industry researchers with access to over 600,000 human DNA, serum and tissue samples linked to detailed clinical and demographic data from 120,000 consented and anonymized patients on four continents. BioServe’s Human Tissue Samples are stocked and readily available.  You can check our list of materials or inquire to see if we have specimens that match your requirements.  If no stocked material is available, through our network of affiliated hospitals, we can initiate a Prospective Collection specific for you. BioServe’s preclinical Molecular Services, such as the genotyping services, help researchers identify genetic markers, validate drug targets and correlate clinical and molecular data to accelerate the development of new and safer drugs.

Stemgent

The Stemgent brand is well known in the global stem cell research community.  It's brand has become associated with stem cell performance-qualified reagents and innovation after becoming the first company to launch a mRNA reprogramming kit for making iPSCs.  Today, the organization is armed with broader capabilities and expertise, and has recently developed a third generation reprogramming technology (StemRNA 3rd Gen RNA Reprogramming) which is now available through iPSC reprogramming services. All of this, combined with complementary REPROCELL know-how from across the globe, uniquely positions the organization with a full-range of services including differentiation and iPSC expansion & characterization.

Alvetex

Alvetex is a highly porous polystyrene scaffold designed for 3D cell culture.

Cells grown in Alvetex possess a natural tissue-like structure that enables them to function in a more physiologically relevant manner.  Alvetex 3D culture enables cells to maintain their in vivo morphology, behavior and responsiveness within an in vitro model system.

Alvetex is available in multiple configurations including multi-well plates and hanging well inserts allowing a variety of approaches and cell culture applications.

Stemgent Product Brands

CryoStem

CryoStem Freezing Medium is a ready-to-use solution for the serum-free, animal component-free cryopreservation of human cells. CryoStem Freezing Medium maintains xeno-free conditions throughout cryopreservation and has been validated on several human ES & iPS cells, and MSC cell lines. CryoStem contains methylcellulose and DMSO in place of serum.  The culture of cells in animal component-free medium eliminates the risks associated with animal sera and serum-derived products.  The product is supplied in the original packaging of the supplier, Biological Industries (also the maker of NutriStem).

NutriStem

NutriStem® is the brand name of a cell culture medium produced by Biological Industries (www.bioind.com).  This provider has a superb quality reputation and produces NutriStem under GMP-quality manufacturing compliance.  REPROCELL is the only company who screens all lots of NutriStem to qualify them for induced pluripotent stem cell reprogramming.  NutriStem has a drug master file in the United States registered with the FDA, making it a popular product for clinical grade stem cell applications.

StainAlive

StainAlive is an original brand of the Stemgent company for a series of specially prepared antibody products that are non-toxic and sterile. This allows for use of the product in live cell cultures to ascertain surface marker expression. The StainAlive series of antibodies are all directed against stem cell pluripotency markers. Hence, use of these antibodies is helpful for determining the extent of reprogramming in a given experiment.

Stemfect

Stemfect is a brand of the original Stemgent corporation.  The Stemfect RNA Transfection Kit is a proprietary mixture of lipid components is specifically designed for in vitro RNA transfection. This kit has been shown to deliver mRNA, siRNA and miRNA. Stemfect RNA Transfection Kit provides greater than or equal to 90% transfection efficiency of mRNA into a range of cell types with greater than 95% viability.

Stemolecule

Stemolecule is an original brand of Stemgent company for a series of small molecules that are reagents useful for stem cell reprogramming, maintenance or differentiation.  Most Stemolecule such as Y27632 and CHIR99021 are enzyme inhibitors and used as cell culture medium additives.  Stemolecule are high quality reagents sourced from suppliers that have been validated by Stemgent for products that have superior performance in stem cell applications.

 

Other Product Brands

ABLE Biott

Cultivation of iPS cells in suspension format is possible with some rich cell culture media formulations and under conditions that promote cells to aggregate (spheroids).  The ABLE Bioreactor Magnetic Stir System has optimized stirring wings that gently mix iPSC spheroids with very low shear-forces.  The 30 mL and 100 mL disposable bioreactors are all designed for passive air exchange, with a stirrer platform that provides constant slow speeds and low heat generation for use directly inside an environmentally controlled cell culture incubator.  The maker of this device is ABLE Biott Corporation of Japan (http://www.able-biott.co.jp/en/).

Ajinomoto

Ajinomoto is a company name and product brand very well known in Japan.  Largely a food and biochemical company, Ajinomoto has recently invested in cell culture and stem cell market opportunities.  Their premier stem cell product is StemFit® Culture Medium for induced pluripotent stem cell cultivation.  REPROCELL is a distributor of StemFit AKO2 medium in the Japan market, and StemFit Basic02 medium in the USA market, under the original Ajinomoto brand label.

Asahi Glass

The EZSPHERE product line-up of Asahi Glass Company (Japan), are plastic dishes and multi-well plates for mammalian cell culture. The entire surface of each EZSPHERE dish (or well) is engineered with micro-wells of specific dimensions, depending on the product. These micro-wells are laser etched and consequently highly consistent in size and depth. Furthermore, the plastic surfaces are treated with a compatible coating that prevents cell adherence.  There are two types of coatings; MPC-polymer coating and SP-polymer coating.  Both are functionally equivalent in performance but differ chemically.  The MPC-coating is biochemically similar to lipid membrane components, while the SP-polymer is a stably-bonded organic coating with extremely minimal leaching.  Cells cultured on a single EZSPHERE plate will form hundreds to thousands of uniform-sized aggregates (spheroids), depending on the plate configuration.

The EZ-OPEN Tissue Culture Flask line-up are standard non-coated plasticware flasks with resilient but easily removable peel-way surfaces. This peel-away cover allows for easy access to cultured cells, resulting in improved yields during harvesting.

Brilliant Research is an A*Star venture company in Singapore that has developed novel technologies for stem cell and cell therapy applications.  Their IPS-Spheres and SenezRed products sold by REPROCELL to provide unique capabilities for iPSCs and mesenchymal stem cells.

This peel-away cover allows for easy access to cultured cells, resulting in improved yields during harvesting.

iMatrix

The iMatrix name is a brand of Matrixome (www.matrixome.co.jp/en), a company focused on cell culture reagents.  Founded in 2015, the major shareholder is Nippi, Inc. (Japan).  The products are primarily proteins or biomaterials that provide scaffolding for mammalian cells to adhere to culture plates for various applications.  The  iMatrix-511 product of Matrixome is a proteolytic derivative of human laminin that interact swith integrin-protein subtypes which are transmembrane proteins on the surface of human cells (www.matrixome.co.jp/en/about/background).  The iMatrix-511 protein is a very popular and effective surface matrix for cultivation of induced pluripotent stem cells.  Other kinds of iMartrix products have also available from Matrixome for other cell culture applications. REPROCELL's portolio includes only products relevant to stem cell research.

Koken

Atelocollagen is a product of Koken Pharma company (Japan).  The AteloGene brand products are tools for molecular delivery and AteloCell brand products are scaffolds for cell culture.  Atelocollagen is a proteolytic digest of native bovine collagen that displays low antigenicity and high biodegradability.  The non-helical telopeptides from both ends of Type 1 collagen are removed, and the remaining high molecular weight helical protein is purified and assembled into many formats suitable for mammalian cell culture applications and in vivo implantation.  Atelocollagen is a stable scaffold in vitro, and may last up to 3 months upon implantation depending on the product. 

Matrixome

Matrixome is a company name (and product brand) focused on cell culture reagents.  Founded in 2015, the major shareholder is Nippi, Inc. (Japan).  As implied by the Matrixome company name, the products are primarily proteins or biomaterials that provide scaffolding for mammalian cells to adhere to culture plates for various applications.  The main products of Matrixome are proteolytic derivatives of human laminin that interact with integrin-protein subtypes which are transmembrane proteins on the surface of human cells (www.matrixome.co.jp/en/about/background).  The iMatrix-511 protein is a very popular and effective surface matrix for cultivation of induced pluripotent stem cells.
