Genitourinary Disease Focus

Medical problems of the genitourinary system can include a range of disorders such as congenital anomalies, infectious diseases, trauma or conditions that involve the urinary structure or function. Of particular interest as drug development targets are the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra and prostate.

Biopta contract research services have extensive experience assessing contractile and relaxatory responses in fresh human tissues, including bladder. Normal tissue, over-active, and neurogenic bladder disorder tissues can be secured for drug efficacy assessments. Ex vivo assays using bladder and other tissues are also feasible. Furthermore, human genitourinary tissue specimens are available from BioServe tissue resources.
