Bioreactors are a commonly used to enable non-adherent cell culture scale-up while reducing consumable costs. However, historically stem cells and iPS cells have been a challenge to culture in bioreactors, due to physical forces and dynamics that often result in high cell mortality. The ABLE Biott Bioreactor Magnetic Stir System and vessels are specifically engineered to support the growth of iPS stem cells. The reliable controlled-speed stir platform with low heat output, used with disposable culture vessels engineered around low shear-stress wing configurations, provide for highly efficient expansion of iPS cells. Made-in-Japan for the Japan market, the system is also compatible with safety and electrical plug requirements for the USA market, although it is not currently accredited.
