Maintenance of an ability to differentiate by using ReproFF2

Differentiation of human iPS cells into cardiomyocytes

Human iPS cells cultured with ReproFF2 (upper row) could differentiate into cardiomyocytes, similarly to those cultured with the feeder cells (lower row). The cell clumps were beating, and the morphology and the expression of the cardiomyocyte markers were confirmed as shown.

Differentiation of human iPS cells into neurons

Human iPS cells cultured with ReproFF2 (upper row) could differentiate via rosettes into dopaminergic neurons, as those cultured with feeder cells (lower row). The expression of betaIII-tubulin was observed in neurites, and expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH, the enzyme for dopamine biosynthesis) was observed. Dopamine release and uptake were also confirmed.
